Abstract: To study the effect of seawater on‘black wheat 76’, we utilize seawater of different concentrations to treat the seed of‘black wheat 76’, and investigate the situation of seed germination and seedling growth after 5 days. The results indicated that seawater concentration of 5% , 10% and 20% could promote seed germination lightly, when the concentration was between 30% and 40%, the seed germination percentage, germinative force and germination index appeared a downtrend with the increase of the concentration. Seedling length, root length, seedling fresh weight and root fresh weight increased and then decreased with the increase of seawater concentration, and there were respective regulation mechanisms to control seedling length, root length, seedling fresh weight and root fresh weight, which needed further study. The activity of SOD、POD、 CAT and the content of MDA and chlorophyll in the leaf were measured, and the results showed that the activity of SOD increased firstly and then decreased with the increase of seawater concentration, and reached the highest when the concentration was 10%, and decreased sharply when the concentration was higher than 10% ; the activity of POD increased sharply, and reached the highest at concentration of 30% , and then decreased; the activity of CAT increased firstly and then decreased, reached the peak at the concentration of 5% , then decreased gradually; the MDA content assumed a trend of increasing; the chlorophyll content assumed a trend of decreasing gradually.
