The Flowering Habit of Photoperiod and Temperature Sensitive Genic Male-sterile (PTGMS) of Indica Rice

Abstract: The aim was to provide theoretical basis for high-yielding seed production of two line sterile lines. Using ‘Guangzhan63-4s’ as a control,the flowering habits of the sterile lines were determined in the same period of time (flowering period, day by day flowering dynamics of single spike , flowering time distribution dynamics, Stigma characteristics, cervix rate and Glume opening characteristics, etc.) ‘F168s’ single spike and single plant flowering period were the longest;‘Xinfeng9826s’ and ‘Xinai10-4s’ flowering period are more concentrated than the control ,their cumulative flowering rate during the flowering period higher and their flowering peak are higher; Except for ‘F168s’, flowering rate of other male sterile lines are higher than that of control; Except for ‘Xinfeng9826s’, the flowering rate of the other male sterile lines at noon are lower than the control; The total exposure rate of stigma and the double exposure rate of stigma in ‘F168s’ is the highest;The stigma single exposure rate in ‘Xinai10-4s’ is the highest;‘F168s’ stigma surface area and the stigma volume are the largest, the stigma activity coefficient is the largest, the stigma vitality is the strongest; Except for ‘Xinfeng9826s’,the other sterile lines have neck wrapping phenomenon; The glume opening time of all the sterile lines are more than that of the control ,and ‘Xinai10-4s’ is the most longest; Except for ‘Xinfeng9826s’,the spacing and glume angle of other sterile lines are larger than those of control, ‘F168s’ is the largest. Hybrids of sterile lines make best use of the advantages and bypass the disadvantages and artificial supplementary measures are adopted to improve the yield of hybrid seed production.
