Abstract: To investigate the effects of several exogenous hormones on seed germination of Robinia pseudoacacia andRobinia hispida , the seeds of two clones ofRobinia pseudoacacia andRobinia hispida were used as test materials. The seeds were treated with 10- 50 mg/L GA, 6- BA, IBA and IAA. The seed germination rate, germination potential, initial germination time, and germination time was counted and analyzed. The results showed that with 10- 50 mg/L GA, 6- BA and IBA, the seed germination rate and germination potential increased with the increasing concentrations of exogenous hormones. While with IAA treatment, the germination rate and germination potential increased at first and then decreased, and they all reached a peak by being treated with 40 mg/L IAA. Along with the increasing concentrations, the three materials exhibited the same result: the initial germination time was reduced, and the germination time was prolonged. The seed germination rate and germination potential of Robinia hispida were the lowest. The germination effect of Robinia hispida treated by low concentration of hormones was not significant. High concentrations could significantly accelerate the germination of Robinia hispida . Taken together, certain concentration of exogenous hormones could promote the seed germination of Robinia pseudoacacia and Robinia hispida
