Abstract:

To explore the anti-fatigue effect of fresh and dried longan aril on mice, the mice were randomly divided into the control group, positive control group, fresh longan group and dried longan group by their weigh, and each group had 10 mice. During 21 days of gavage (0.2 mL/10 g), the mice body weight was observed on day 1, 7, 14, and 21. After 21 days, the anti-fatigue effect was investigated by measuring the time of exhaustive swimming, and the content of hepatic glycogen, blood urea nitrogen and lactate dehydrogenase after weight loaded swimming. The results showed that, there was no influence on mice body weight development. Compared with the control group, the dried longan aril could significantly prolong the exhaustive swimming time (P<0.01), increase hepatic glycogen content (P<0.01) and lactate dehydrogenase content (P<0.05), but significantly reduce blood urea nitrogen content (P<0.05), which was similar to the positive control group. At the same time, the fresh longan aril could significantly prolong exhaustive swimming time (P<0.05) and increase lactate dehydrogenase content (P<0.01), while reduce blood urea nitrogen content (P<0.05). The research indicates that longan can enhance anti-fatigue effect, and the dried aril is superior to the fresh aril, possibly due to its glucose content.
