Abstract: The experiment studied the effects of the different stage of nitrogen fertilizer application on the upland rice such as the spike number of per 667m2、the weight of 1000 grains、the dry matter transference rate and so on with upland rice 65.The results indicated that the dry matter production and distribution of the upland rice were different from rice variety, its spike number of per 667m2、kernel number of per spike and weight of 1000 grains had close relation to the stage of nitrogen fertilizer application. The nitrogen fertilizer application at jointing stage more ensured the rate of turning into ears and improved the number of filled grains and also had close relation to the highest milky rate as well as the appearance time of the highest milky rate. Therefore,it was more appropriate that the upland rice variety was provided with the nitrogen fertilizers at jointing stage.
