Abstract: For exploring cultivation technique for good quality and high yield of Scotch Spearmint（Mentha cardiaca L.）, the principal agronomic measure which had effect on it’s yield and quality (such as sowing time, density, balanced fertilization, the optimum time for harvesting and so on) were comprehensively studied. The results showed that the best formula of agronomic measure for yield of essential oil from spearmint ≥82.5 kg/hm2 and good quality was sowing time form 7th November to 22nd November, density 251000~362000 plant/hm2,fertilizer application of pure N 169.2~214.5 kg/hm2、P2O5 91.8~134.0 kg/hm2,and the optimum time for harvesting was when the buds reached about 10% of the main stem.
