Abstract: The methods of wax microtomy and microscopic measurement were applied to study the histology of digestive tract and the face of tunica mucosa of the Trionyx sinensis. The results show that the digestive tract consist of 4 layers, including mucosa, submucosa, muscular coat, and serosa. The digestive tract is varied in the mucosae and muscularis among the different parts such as esophagus, stomach and intestine. Mucosa epithetlium consists of stratified squamous cells on esophagus and simple columnar cells on stomach and intestine. The stomach and intestine of muscularis consist of innercircular smooth muscle and outerlongitudinal smooth muscle. In addition, the fine structure features of mucosa epithetlium cells, gland’s distribution and the thickness of muscularis are also varied in the different parts of the digestive tract.
