Abstract: BoⅡyou15, a new weakly-photosensitive indica hybrid rice combination derived from the cross of CMS BoⅡA and good-quality restorer line HR15, was released by Institute of Technique for Agriculture Biology, Guangdong Ocean University. It was examined and approved by national crops variety Approval Committee in 2003 Feb, and suitable to be planted for late cropping season in regions such as Guangdong, central south of Guangxi, south of Fujian and Hainan province. Since characteristics of high and stable yield, good grain quality, strong resistance to disease and easy to achieved a high yield in seed production, BoⅡyou15 had taken on a main cultivar in south china rice growing area and its total applicated area from 2003 to 2005 had amounted to more 404, 000 hm2.
