Abstract: In this article 877 farming households in the periphery district of MiYun reservoir were surveyed by means of participatory rural appraisal (PRA), to analysis such as information sources, attitude to environmental protection, expectation to ecological compensation, opportunity costs, and opinion to resettlement etc. Some corresponding suggestions are put forward in accordance with the major problems. The most urgent demands to protect and improve the environment quality in the reservoir periphery district are following: developing the information channels, educating the farmers & improving their consciousness of ecology, and above all, to develop agritourism and metropolitan agriculture.
