Abstract: To screen high-effective bacteria for Dimethoate degradation. 11 soil samples on of sewage outfall and surrounding land in Fujian Fu-nong Biochemistry Co., Ltd were collected to isolate the Dimethoate-degrading bacteria.23 bacterial stains were isolated by using the cultural media containing Dimethoate and identified by fatty-acid analysis. The bacteria were divided into 17 genera. Further screening was conducted by digestion test and 4 isolates were found to have good degrading ability to Dimethoate. Salmonella choleraesuis subsp. houtenae, Enterobacter cloacae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus megaterium GC subgroup A had 27.3%, 26.6%, 22.9% and 18.1% of degrading rate at 48h, respectively, while the initial concentration of Dimethoate was 1000 mg/L. The bacteria that had degrading ability to Dimethoate existed species polymorphism
