Abstract:

The utilization of 1981 IRRDB Hevea germplasm was slow in China, so in order to accelerate the progress of characterization and evaluation of rubber tree, an analysis was made to study the physiological response of Amazon Hevea new germplasm on s /2 d/3 & s/2 d/3＋ET1.5% ethephon stimulation tapping system . Thirteen germplasms were determined in terms of physiological parameters such as DRC，yield, initial flow rate, plug index, sucrose, thiol, phosphorus, magnesium with RRIM600 as control. The results showed that 13 Amazonian genotypes displayed very poor profiles in production of latex with the ethephon stimulation tapping system, and it may not be possible to select any useful high latex yielding genotypes for commercial planting only according to the characteristic of latex physiological parameters, but accession 9 and 13 had a higher yield and better latex physiological parameters, suggesting good potential of latex-production.
