Abstract:
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of different puerperal weights on the back fat thickness of lactating sows. The treatments were designed in a single factorial arrangement. Thirty five sows were randomly allocated to seven treatments with eight replicates in each group and one sow in each replicate according to single factor desgin. The result indicated that the feed intake of lactating sows increased with the body weight became big and big, which showed some dose-response relationship. As for the weight loss, the result showed that the weight loss in 240kg and 250kg treatments were significantly higher than that in 200kg group(p<0.05), which the weight loss in 200kg treat group (p=0.1)and 220kg group (p<0.05)obviously exceeded the 190kg group. At the same while, the feed intake in 250kg group clearly surpassed that in 210kg group (p<0.05), 190kg group (p<0.01) and 200kg group (p<0.10). Similarly, the feed intake in 240kg group was higher than that of 210kg group(p<0.1), too. The result showed that there was close relationship between body weight and changes of feed intake of sows in lactating phase. In addition, the effect of the delivery weight on the weight loss and feed intake was mainly showed in the whole lactating phase.
