Abstract:

In order to better know current situation of paddy soil nutrients in the Nanhu district of Jiaxing, the regional samples were collected for the organic studies in 2004 and 2008. The results show that soil fertility increased dramatically in the past 25 years. Contents of organic matter, total nitrogen, available phosphorus and potassium were increased by 7.0%, 4.1 %, 394% and 11.3% respectively. The rapid increased available P is related to the excessive usage of P fertilizer and animal manure which accumulated P in the soil environment. From 1983 to 2004, the available copper, zinc, iron, manganese and molybdenum in the soil were increased by 13.6%,222%,26%,202% and 81.8% respectively while the available boron was not changed significantly. Challenged by excessive usage of chemical fertilizers and P accumulation in the soil, the paper recommends management tactics on soil organic matter increasing, phosphorus and nitrogen controlling and reasonable application of micro element fertilizers.
