Abstract:

5 sterile lines, 16 restorer of sorghum and their hybrids were studied in this paper. Their starch contents were detected and analyzed. The result showed starch contents of sterile lines were 72.58%-77.84%, restorer were 72.33%-79.93%, hybrids were 74.66%-77.61%.The heterosis of the F1 hybrids on starch content was significant, and their starch contents were between two parents, starch contents of some hybrids were apt to high parent content, some were apt to low parent content, some were higher than high parent content, some were lower than low parent content. High starch content sorghum hybrids can be bred by high starch content parents.
