Abstract:
Calcium, as a messenger molecule, is known to play a crucial role in stimulus-response coupling for many plant cellular signaling pathways and Calcium signals can play a fundamental role in many biological effects. Calcium signals mediate a multitude of plant responses to external stimuli and regulate a wide range of physiological processes. So far, three families of calcium-binding proteins have been identified in plants, including calcium dependent protein kinases(CDPKs), calmodulin (CaM) and calcineurin B-like proteins (CBLs). The proteins likely recognize specific calcium signatures and relay these signals into downstream responses to accommodate external stimuli. Ca2+ messenger system and the hormones plays very important roles in the plant's flower development(flower induction, flower bud differentiation and flowering control), sexual reproduction(in pollen germination and pollen tube growth),and stress physiology. Scholars found that the three types of calcium signal system of Ca2+/CaM, Ca2+/CDPK and Ca2+/CBL have related with plant hormone signaling in the study of plant hormone receptors, signal transduction, gene expression research, as well as Ca2+ signaling mechanism related to .The paper reviewed the effects of Ca2+/CaM, Ca2+/CDPK, Ca2+/CBL calcium signal system on the hormone signaling system and Stated the relationship between these two systems.
