Abstract:

Two hundred and twenty-one actinomycetes strains were obtained from twenty-three soil samples collected from fruit orchards and vegetable fields in different parts of Guangdong Province by routine methods. 9 strains showed antagonistic activities against Penicillium digitatum Sacc. Among them，strain MY-5 exhibited the strongest antibiosis capacity with an inhibitory zone of 18.67 mm. Strain MY-5 was identified as Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to its 16SrDNA sequence analysis，and the morphological，physiological and biochemical characteristics.
