Abstract:
A field experiment was employed to study the effect of irrigation and potassium rate and their interaction on yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco. The results showed that yield, output value and proportion of superior leaves of flue-cured tended to increase with the increase of potassium rate. Both irrigation and potassium rate could improve yield, output value and ratio of high class leaves in different degrees, and the effect of potassium rate was more significant than that of irrigation. There was obvious interaction effect of water and potassium coupling on increasing the proportion of superior leaves. In different irrigation conditions, the models of the effect of potassium rate on yield, output value and ratio of high class leaf of flue-cured tobacco were all conic, which indicated that the effects of potassium on increasing yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco tended to decrease in higher potassium rate. Comparing with different treatments of potassium rate in economic characteristics, chemical components and smoking quality of the leaves, the appropriate potassium rate of flue-cured tobacco in Xiangxi was 240 kg/hm2.
