Abstract:

The water soluble polysaccharide was extracted from phyllanthus emblica L. by the method of ultrasound-water extracting-alcohol precipitating. Polysaccharide extraction yield of 4.61% was obtained and the content of polysaccharide in the extract was reached to 44.62%. The antioxidant activity of the polysaccharide of phyllanthus emblica L. was investigated. The IC50 of scavenging effect on hydroxyl free radical generated by Fenton reaction was 0.38 mg/mL, the maximum scavenging rate was 80.3%. The IC50 of scavenging effect on superoxide radical generated by riboflavine photosensitization was 0.93 mg/mL, the maximum scavenging rate was 85.9 %. The IC50 of inhibition effect on lecithin lipid peroxidation induced by hydroxyl free radical was 0.39 mg/mL, the maximum inhibition rate was 71.3%. The results showed that phyllanthus emblica L. polysaccharides had good antioxidant activity, which was closed to tea polyphenols.
