Abstract:

In order to select new flue-cured tobacco varieties with mountainous characteristic in Chongqing, a comparative trail of five new introduced varieties, including of Guiyan 4, Nanjiang 3, Jiucaiping 2, Zhongyan 103, Yunyan 202 , have been conducted at twelve tobacco-planting areas in Chongqing, using Yunyan 87 and K326, the main tobacco plant varieties in Chongqing, as controls. The results showed that Nanjiang 3 had more leaves number and ranked first in terms of tobacco leaf yield, production value, average price and proportion of fine quality tobacco leaves, and the chemical components of Nanjiang 3 were harmonious, but the veins of Nanjiang 3 were a little coarse. Another variety Guiyan 4 ranked second and third in tobacco leaf yield and production value, respectively, and its chemical composition was harmonious. It is suggested that Nanjiang 3 and Guiyan 4 can be used as collocation varieties in Chongqing.
