Abstract:
Through the investigation of physiological characteristics and panicle traits, an experiment was carried out to study the effect of nitrogen amount in four levels on physiological characteristics and the yield of three japonica rice varieties, ‘Shennong 315’, ‘Shendao 7’ and ‘Shendao 11’. The results showed that, with the increasing of nitrogen amount, the leaf area index increased. The panicle length, the primary and secondary rachis-branches at high nitrogen level were more than those of other nitrogen levels. The yield of ‘Shennong 315’ and ‘Shendao 7’ were higher, and reached 9.78 t/hm2 and 9.65 t/hm2, respectively, followed by ‘Shendao 11’ in the high level, ‘Shennong 315’, ‘Shendao 11’ and ‘Shendao 7’ in middle level, the yield was 9.21 t/hm2, 9.11 t/hm2, 8.60 t/hm2, 8.49 t/hm2, respectively.
