Abstract:

The effect of exogenous proline (Pro) treatment of different concentrations on physiological characters of salt tolerance in buckwheat seedling was studied. The salt-sensitive buckwheat variety (TQ-0808) was used as experimental material, which was treated with adding different concentrations of Pro under NaCl stress of 100 mmol/L, and the relevant physiological indexes of salt tolerance were measured. The results showed that the exogenous Pro could obviously decrease the plasmalemma permeability and MDA content of buckwheat leaves, and the treatment with 20-30 ?mol/L Pro had the most decreased amount. The exogenous Pro could also obviously increase the SOD activity and net photosynthetic rate of buckwheat leaves, and the treatment with 20-30 ?mol/L Pro had the most increased amount. It indicated that the exogenous Pro could significantly improve the physiological characters of buckwheat seedling under salt stress and had a better mitigation to salt stress. The Pro treatment concentration of 20-30 ?mol/L had the best mitigation to salt stress in buckwheat seedling.
