Abstract: UFGT（UDP glucose –flavonoid-3-o-glycosyltranferase）is the last key enzyme in the biosynthesis of anthocyanins. Total RNA was isolated from autumn leaves of Acer×freemanii ‘Autumn Blaze’. Using degenerate primer, a new cDNA fragment of 397 bp was amplified by RT-PCR. Sequence analysis demonstrated that the deduced amino acid sequence shared above 70% identity with Litchi chinensis, Citrus x paradisi, etc. These results suggested that the cDNA fragment cloned in this study was from UFGT gene of maple.
