Abstract: In order to research half-sib families of Castanopsis fissa’s wood properties genetic variation and estimate genetic parameters, 4-year old half-sib families’growth test and wood properties were analyzed by randomized block design. The results suggested that: wood density was significantly difference and fiber length and width were very significantly difference. Wood density and fiber length’s genetic variation coefficient were respectively 4.22%, 3.09% and the broad heritability were respectively 0.1916, 0.2658, which indicated the two traits were controlled by the weaker genetic factors. Fiber width’s genetic variation coefficient was 5.71% and the broad heritability was 0.3985 which indicated fiber width was controlled by the moderate genetic factors. The DBH and height growth between wood fiber length and density had no correlation, but the DBH and height growth between fiber width had weaker correlation. Wood density, fiber length and fiber width were mutually independent in genetic. Though choosing these traits in independent, it could cultivate the families which have good wood properties and fast-growing characteristic.
