Abstract: The Tilia amurensis Rupr. seed without pericarp was researched by NaOH in order to discuss the mechanism of breaking dormancy, and the changes of storage substance content in the integrative treated. Germination potential, germination rate and storage substance content were determined during seed germination of Tilia amurensis Rupr. by socking in NaOH. The results showed, all of them could reach the goal, but the best method was treating with 30% NaOH for 1.5 h. The average germination potential and germination rate were 38% and 71.66%, 20% NaOH for 1.5 h and 10% NaOH for 6 h were the secondplace. Compared with control, the starch, soluble protein and soluble sugar declined rapidly after germination, and the amylase changed with“W”after treated by NaOH. NaOH treatments were used to break seed coat barrier and change reactions of physiology and bio-chemistry in Tilia amurensis Rupr. seeds effectively.
