Abstract: In order to investigate the classified information, quality and environmental risk of the fertilizers on the market in Guangdong Province. An investigation of fertilizer quality on the market in Guangdong Province was conducted. Results showed that: the pass rate reached 88.9% for all of the mainstream fertilizers and reached 100% for the imported fertilizers in the fertilizer market. The price of imported fertilizer was 20% higher than domestic fertilizer, and the actual nutrient content of imported fertilizers usually higher than the nominal value as usual. The contents of heavy metal of compound fertilizers were very low and within the national standards. Though prices of organic fertilizers were relatively high, contents of organic matter and moisture were all highly qualified. Furthermore, heavy metal exceeded rate of organic fertilizer was 7.7 %, and the ratio of N/P/K was different. Calcium superphosphate and soil conditioner had lower nutrients and higher heavy metal contents widespreadly.
