Abstract: The study aims to explore microbial and enzyme activity diversity of the lake, and obtain the cold bacteria with application value. The samples from the lake at low temperature were taken and spread onto plate for separating. The strains were further measured by colony morphology, physiological and biochemical properties, screened out the cold- adapt strains. The protease, cellulose, amylase, and the lignin enzyme activity of strains were also measured. The results showed that the total of 22 cold-adapted-strains were isolated, which contained 14 bacteria, 5 fungi and 3 actinomyces. Seven of them can produce protease, three of them can produce amylase, six of them can produce lignin enzymes, six of them can produce cellulase. WF-1 has four enzyme activities, WB- 8 has three enzyme activities, the other strains have one or two enzyme activities. The screened out strains have various enzyme activities and potential value for development.
