Study on Decrease of Vitrification in Subculture of Carnation

Abstract: Vitrification is the main obstacle in subculture of carnation plantlets in vitro, which were induced from shoot tips. The effective way to decrease vitrification is to increase the concentration of sucrose and agar in the medium, to improve luminosity, and to decrease the concentration of cell devision hormone. However, this way has little effect on some of red-colored species, which have a high vitrification frequency of over 61% in subculture.
