Abstract:

The objective of this study was to investigate the anti-obesity function of Opuntia milpa Alta. Six weeks old Wista rats were divided into 12 groups, the black control group were received regular diet, while the other groups were received high fat high sucrose diet for 4 weeks. Food intake, body weight gain, body fat content, body fat index serum lipid level, liver weight were as the indicators. The results showed that Opuntia milpa Alta can inhibit appetite, control the body weight gain, reduce the body fat content and body fat index, and it can also decrease TG and increase HDL-C.
