Abstract:

In consideration of the importance of intensive land use for land management practice, researchers conducted many analyses on the connotation, methods and objectives of it. With a view to distinguishing the experience from inadequacy and going a step ahead, the authors reviewed present intensive land use literatures by way of input and output conjunction and cause and outcome connection. After the comments of literature on intensive land use in the extension of study, scale and time transfer and model methods, the authors put forward some suggestions for further study: (1) We should differently define urban intensive land use and rural intensive land use according to their distinct characteristic. (2) We should pay more attention to the utilization of “3S” to analyze so much data relate to intensive land use. (3) Our research should consciously focus on practical land planning and management, and stipulate some standards and develop some applicable software facing to land administrator.
