Abstract:

In order to promote development of cotton industry in Xinjiang, including large amount of imported cotton, rising cost in production, natural disasters, hazards from illness and insects and weak foundation in low lines, have posed big challenges for its progress. Based on analysis, this article gives suggestions on achieving a healthy development of the cotton industry in Xinjiang, such as tightening cotton import, strengthening macro control of the market, supporting production sectors, accelerating construction of infrastructure and establishing a modern industry system.
