Soil Moisture Monitoring System Based on Wireless Sensor Networks and WebGIS

Abstract:

In order to solve the difficult problems such as data storage, sending of portable test instruments and real-time monitoring and analysis in soil moisture monitoring. Soil moisture monitoring system based on wireless sensor networks and WebGIS technology was established. The design of the whole system, which had STC singlechip as the core chips, GPRS module and GPS module were integrated. Real-time acquisition and wireless transmission of soil moisture data were achieved through the wireless sensor networks technology. Database was set up to receive data. GIS technology was combined with soil moisture monitoring by the secondary development of SuperMap IS.NET and SQL Server technology. The results of soil moisture were obtained through the analysis of the content of soil water based on the depth of soil and growing time of crops. The shows of the information of monitoring sites, the curve of soil moisture content and isoline map on Web server were realized. The foundation and use of the system had far-reaching implications for agriculture production.
