Study on the Anti-aging Effect of Flavonoid from Oxytropis glabra DC on Mice

Abstract: The purpose of this project was to study the anti-aging activity on flavonoid from Oxytropis glabra DC. To observe the effect on activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and catalase (CAT), the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) and lipofuscim (LPO) in serum, liver and brain, the survival time under hypoxic condition and swimming time of mice with senile model caused by D-galatose and meanwhile administered with flavonoid from Oxytropis glabra DC of 100, 200, 300 mg/(kg·d) orally. The results showed that the activity of SOD, GSH-Px and CAT in serum and tissue were increased which mice fed flavonoid from Oxytropis glabra DC, the content of MDA and LPO dropped significantly. Meanwhile, the survival time under hypoxic condition and the swimming time at normal temperature were prolonged significantly. It was found that flavonoid from Oxytropis glabra DC had the obvious effect on anti-senility.
