Abstract:

In order to classify the nine peach varieties and research the genetic relationship from the genetic basis, Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technology was used to mark the genomic DNA and the cluster analysis was performed with SPSS 11.0. The results of cluster analysis showed that when the value of Squared Euclidean distance coefficient was from 2.0 to 6.0, the different peach varieties were divided into two groups. The first group was made up of ‘Manyuanhong’, ‘Zhongyoutao 4’, ‘Zhongyoutao 9’ and 07-9-6. They were all considered as nectarine. The second group was made up of 97-6-83, NJC83, ‘Wan83’, NJC19 and 07-9-19. They were all considered as yellow peach. All the varieties were divided into four groups when the value of Squared Euclidean distance coefficient was from 1.0 to 2.0. NJC83 and its clone mutants (97-6-83 and ‘Wan83’) were in the same group. NJC19 and its variation (07-9-19) got together. ‘Zhongyoutao 4’ and its clone mutant (‘Manyuanhong’) gathered together. ‘Zhongyoutao 9’ and its variation (09-6-9) clustered together. The RAPD analysis indicated that the genetic distance between the female parent and its mutant was short. They had very close relationship. They have produced a certain amount of specificity strips and also emerged a wide range of variation.
