Abstract:

In order to investigate the factors influencing the induction of callus tissue from Taxus chinensis var. mairei, the author researched on callus induction from stem and needle leaves. The results indicated that: young stem was the best explant of the callus induction, callus tissue grew fast and appeared yellow green with loose texture, while the callus tissue from leaves were white and slow in growth. The combination of 2,4-D and NAA could promote the induction of callus tissue, and 1/5 of 2,4-D/NAA was the best. Culture in darkness could significantly benefit the callus tissue and reduce the browning phenomenon.
