Abstract: Based on field survey and questionnaires on rural household energy consumption in Tancheng County, the willingness of energy use of rural residents and the consumption situation of rural household energy were analyzed .The research results were these aspects: there had significant changes for the consumption ideas of rural household, farmers began pay attention to the the clean, convenient and high-efficiency energy and not was the economic energy as before. Top three kinds of household energies were solar energy, electric energy and central gas supply, and these three kinds energies accounted for more than 85% of the total consumption quantity of the rural household energy in the rural areas in Tancheng County. The energy consumption modes present diversification, and the most popular mode was electric energy+ liquefied petroleum gas+ coal+ solar energy, and then was the mode of electric energy+ liquefied petroleum gas+ solar energy. Main rural household energy types were solar energy, electric energy, coal and liquefied petroleum gas in the rural areas in Tancheng County. Biogas users accounted for 4.5% of the total rural household, so it is difficult to develop household biogas according the actual situation of Tancheng County. As traditional rural household energy, straw and firwood have become unnecessary.
