Abstract: Among grape cultivars, there is a wide genetic variation for berry color ranging from white to black. Berry color results from the synthesis and accumulation of anthocyanins in the berry skin, which in plants is commonly regulated by transcription factors belonging to the MYB families. The structures of common anthocyanidin and anthocyanin biosynthesis pathway were described to review the relationships between different grape skin color and MYB transcription factors. Then we generalized the relationship between grape color and anthocyanin, also the functions of some genes in regulating anthocyanidin biosynthesis and focus on the functions of grape MYB transcription factors in the process of anthocyanins synthesis so as to provide reference for further study of grape color improvement.
