Detecting Major Growth Stages of Paddy Rice Based on FY-3 Data in Heilongjiang Province

Abstract: As an important factor during crop growing period, phenology of paddy rice is widely used in growing monitoring, field management, quality and output forecasting. In order to explore an efficient, practical and suitable method, based on 250 m data of FY-3 meteorological satellite and EVI change characteristics, the stages of recovering, tillering, heading, and mature were obtained according to their characteristics, and then compared with the ground observation data. The results showed that the recognition ratio reached above 80%, where the ratios of heading stage and tillering stage were respectively the highest and lowest. Each growth stage had the advanced or delayed identification point. This study could provide some reference for growing monitoring of paddy rice.
