Abstract: The interactions between pest mites and plants is the result of their coevolution.between parasites and their hosts.Understanding spider mites-induced plant responses is an important way to explore how to control spider mites, which is beneficial to perfect the pest mites integrated management measures. In this paper,we reviewed recent research progress on the pest mites-induced plant responses, such as plant tissue or cell structure, photosynthetic pigment, photosynthesis, nitrogen metabolism, protective enzyme, proteinase inhibitor, polyphenol, and so on. In addition,we discussed the prospects on exploring the plant defensive materials and the plant defense mechanism.
