Abstract: Plant morphology transformation and mathematic model are two major methods in the simulation research on light environment of rice population. This paper summarizes the progress of their application and related research. Probability and characteristics of imply 3-dimentional model to research were discussed. Application of 3D model to research will bring us perspicuity and accuracy. We should combine these three methods into use, integrate there advantages of truthfulness, ability of summarize and accuracy. Get parameters from transformation to construct and validate 3D model, then summarize the result to a mathematic model，could be taken as a technique plan.
