Abstract: In order to research and establish highly stable formation system, SOD activity, POD activity, CAT activity, soluble protein and soluble sugar contents were studied to investigate their effects on physiological and biochemical mechanism of oriental lily ‘Sorbonne’. The results indicated that during the growth and development of lily bulb, SOD and POD activities increased, CAT activity decreased, and soluble protein accumulation and soluble sugar contents changes were closely related to the Lily bulb formation. Therefore, the changes of SOD, POD and CAT activities were closely related to the bulb induction and formation with SOD and POD activities playing leading roles in the process of lily bulb formation; soluble sugar and soluble protein accumulation provided material and energy basis for lily bulb development.
