Research Progress of Silage Additive

Abstract

Abstract: Silage additive is a kind of microbial additive designed for silage. Its main role is to purposefully regulate microflora in silage, adjust the fermentation process of silage, enhance the reproduction of lactic acid bacteria for producing lactic acid faster, and promote conversion between polysaccharide and crude fiber, thus effectively improve the quality of silage. Promotion type additive is a kind of silage additive that was widely researched and applied in recent years. Characteristics of Lactobacillus buchneri, lactic acid bacteria, cellulase, and previously fermented juice were reviewed and their effects on silage were summarized to explore more resources of the raw material of silage additive and improve its quality.
