Abstract: In order to find wild ornamental plants which are suitable for Chengde, the introduction and cultivation test was carried on with the subalpine wild plants of Saihanba. 13 species of wild ornamental plants, which are being to 13 genus, 6 families, were collected from Saihanba. Then the test was carryied on after treated according to the classification of plants. The results showed that: there were certain differences among their adaptability. 2 plants, died ,which were Paeonia obovata Maxim. and Stellera chamaejasma L.;although Pyrola calliantha H. Andr. can survived, it could not go very well, finally it disappeared; 5 plants, including Caltha palustris var. Sibirica Regel, Polygonatum odoratum (Mill.) Druce and so on, there was a short period of time to sleep in summer, and in the second year they can grow and flower normally; 4 plants including Allium victorialis, Maianthemum bifolium (L.) Fr.Schmidt, Matteuccia struthiopteris (L.) Todaro, Hippochaete hiemale (L.) Boerner had good adaptability. 11 kinds of plants can be used as the introduction of plants in Chengde.
