Abstract: Imidacloprid was the first neonicotinoid insecticide introduced to the market in 1991.The development of imidacloprid has provided growers with a new tool for managing some of the world’s most destructive corps pests, primarily those of the order Homoptera (aphids, whiteflies, and planthoppers) and Coleoptera (beetles), including species with a long history of resistance to earlier-used products. But, several insect pest have evolved the resistance to imidacloprid now in greenhouse and in field. This article summarized the incidence of resistance, cross-resistance implications, mechanisms and resistance-management of homopteran pests to imidacloprid.
