Abstract: ERECTA is a receptor-like kinase isolated from Arabidopsis La-0(Landsberg) that interacts with a variety of genes which control the morphogenesis of various plant organs. Its Arabidopsis mutant Ler (Landsberg erecta) is widely used in molecular genetic studies. It has been found that ERECTA plays an important role in inflorescence structure formation, leaf morphogenesis, stomatal development, disease resistance and etcetera. With the development in the field of molecular biology and genetics, new functions of ERECTA have been discovered. This review summarizes the functions of ERECTA gene in meristem, leaf and floral development, and biological and abiotic stresses in Arabidopsis thaliana.
