Progress of Conservation and Research of Genetic Diversity of Pepper Germplasm Resources

Abstract: Had been introduced from South America, Capsicum became one important vegetable and condiment in P. R. China. And there were lots of varieties of Capsicum. However, as extending just some varieties, other traditional varieties have been abandoned and Capsicum germplasm resources are reduced. This paper elaborated Capsicum germplasm resources present situation and advance of utilizing, suggested a system to conservate Capsicum germplasm resources, and pointed out Capsicum germplasm resources would be enlarged through conservation and utilizing reasonable.
