Abstract: The experiment design was the split-plot design with fertilizers as main plots and plant densities as subplots. The trial was designed to test the effect of three plant densities on the subsequent production of “Te You 649” at two levels of nitrogen fertilization. The result showed that the yield reached the highest, 9.36t/ha, when the plant density was 375,000 hills/ha (plant spacing=20cm×13.2cm) at the nitrogen fertilization of 225kg. Accordingly, a desirable agronomic measure combination for attaining a grain yield of above 9.0t/ha was proposed to be 375,000 hills/ha of plant density with 2 grain-seedling per hill, 225kg pure nitrogen/ha, 112.5kg P2O5/ha and 180kg K2O/ha. A package water management method was also introduced.
