Chromosome D of Raphanus sativus has been determined to be the nematode resistance-bearing,and linkage group 7 of Raphanus sativus has been located the gene Hs1Raph controlling resistance to nematode. On this basis, this work was carried out to research the relation of chromosome D and linkage group7 to see whether linkage group 7 is essentially the map of chromosomes D on DNA level. 90 markers assigned to chromosome D were screened from rape-radish addition lines by using (dp) RAPD technology. 4 polymorphic assigned markers were further mapped in F2 population comprising of 245 individuals, and then were analyzed by software join-map 3.0 together with 505 AFLP and RAPD markers, which has been used to construct radish molecular map. As a result, all of chromosome D assigned markers were located into linkage group 7, and in linkage group 7, there were no markers assigned to any other chromosomes of radish. It could be proven that linkage group 7 carrying the nematode resistance gene Hs1Raph is identical with chromosome D bearing the resistance to nematode. The result will be useful to search for inter-genomic recombination in a program intended to introgress nematode resistance from radish to other Brassica crops using chromosome additions, as well as useful to map further resistance traits in radish.
