Abstract:

Based on 541 Landsat 5 TM and Landsat 8 OLI images from 1988 to 2016, the normalized vegetation index (NDVI) of wetland vegetation (mainly reeds) in Xitugou and Wowachi in the extremely arid desert region was calculated, the characteristics of wetland vegetation were analyzed from NDVI, wetland vegetation area and average NDVI, the vegetation coverage of Wowachi wetland and Xitugou wetland in Dunhuang Yangguan National Nature Reserve (hereinafter referred to as Yangguan Nature Reserve) was estimated to determine the changes. According to Google Image and field survey, we determined that NDVI > 0.1 was the best threshold to identify vegetation in Xitugou and Wowachi wetlands, through the statistical calculation of wetland vegetation in the nature reserve, the change trend was studied. It was found that the wetland vegetation in Wowachi and Xitugou had an obvious increasing trend.
