Sustainable Control of Diseases and Insect Pests in Pomegranate Orchard

Abstract: Systematic investigation on species, distribution and damage of diseases and insect pests in pomegranate orchard in Huaiyuan county Anhui province were carried out. Epidemic rule of principal diseases, including Zythia versoniana, Pseudocercospora punicae, Fusarium solani, Melioda sp., and occurance of dominant insect pests, including Dichocrocis punctiferalis, Carposina niponensis, Cnidocampa flavescens, Parallelia stuposa, Herdonia osacesalis, Zeuzera coffeae, Aphis gossypii, Ceroplastes japonicus were studied. Based on above, a technique system of sustainable control to diseases and insect pests in pomegranate orchard was constituted, which was at the basis of plant quarantine and biology safety, nuclear to ecological regulation, and key to environmentally sound chemical control. The results might provide technique support for high and stable product, superior quality and no-harm of pomegranate.
