Abstract: The discourse on the era background of concept proposed and the content of farmer information literacy was discussed firstly. Then current farmer education and negative factors in information accomplishment education for farmers was analyzed in the paper. It was pointed out that low total level of farmer cultural literacy, the education disequilibrium of farm labor from different areas, lowly scientific and technological literacy of farmers are the result of some negative factors such as the subject misplacement of training target of China education, weak basis farmer education in rural area and the weakening of function of organizational education. It was pointed out that information literacy education for Chinese farmers should be strengthened in information era and new village building. The paper also puts forward the countermeasures to raise the information literacy of Chinese farmers, such as perfecting rural education system, making account of rural vocational education, and building the information education model according to Chinese farmer behavior.
